Samsung develops new lithium battery technology to significantly extend battery life

According to foreign technology media reports, Samsung researchers have developed a new Lithium Battery technology that can extend battery life.

Researchers use silicon as the anode for new batteries. Silicon is a good battery anode material. Silicon anodes can charge more electricity than the graphite anodes used in current common lithium batteries, but silicon will produce significant volume changes during charging and discharging. Increased, but reduced when used - this will damage the silicon anode and affect the performance of the battery. Samsung researchers have found a way to overcome this problem: researchers apply silicon nanoparticles to the graphene layer; graphene has excellent electrical and mechanical properties, allowing silicon nanoparticles to slide left and right, and can be expanded when needed or Shrink, ensuring that the silicon material has all the space it needs. In the experiment, Samsung created a battery with an energy density of 1.5 to 1.8 times that of the current ordinary mobile phone battery.

This is currently only a research project, and it will take time to apply this breakthrough to the product, so you can't see it on the Galaxy S7. However, if the technology develops smoothly, you will no longer have to worry about forgetting to charge your phone before going to bed at night. The phone will be out of power the next day. In addition to the mobile phone battery, if the technology is used in an electric car, the electric car can be charged as long as the gasoline car with a single charge.
